Kingshot – Viking Vengeance Event Guide

Beginners Guide to Viking Vengeance
Defend your home from Viking raids and earn rewards such as alliance coins and lord equipment materials.
How It Works
- The Vikings attack all alliance members over 20 stages. The more stages you successfully defend, the better rewards you receive.
- If you fail to defend twice, Vikings will no longer target the failed home.
- In stages 7, 14, and 17, only online alliance members are attacked, while stages 10 and 20 target the alliance headquarters.
- If both the Wasteland HQ and the Plains HQ exist, Vikings will attack the higher-level “Plains HQ.”
Scoring
- Points are awarded based on the troops you kill in other members’ homes and the troops killed in your own home by alliance members (or by yourself).
- Whether you kill the troops directly or via support, the final score from your home remains the same.
- In other words, high scores come from having your home defended by others and you defending other members’ homes.

Strategies & Tips
Main Base Defense & Troop Deployment
Main Hero Deployment:
- In your castle’s “Guard Station,” be sure to deploy your strongest hero.
- Leaving your own troops in your base reduces the score for alliance members who come to support you, so try to empty your base if possible.
HQ Defense:
- Stages 10 and 20 are dedicated to HQ attacks.
- It is recommended to use only shield infantry and cavalry above a certain tier for defense. The exact HQ defense strategy can be determined by the leadership.
- (Example: Only shield infantry above tier 8 / Full troop count of tier 10 shield infantry + 50,000 per user of tier 8–9 shield infantry / Per user: 70,000 troops, shield infantry 65,000, cavalry 5,000)
Troop Exchange & Support Strategy
Troop Exchange:
- Deploy only your top 3 heroes in your castle (Guard Station) and exchange the remaining heroes and troops with other users.
- If the troop exchange is done correctly, your castle will have no remaining troops, allowing supporting alliance members to gain the maximum score.
- If you fail to exchange troops, the leftover troops in your castle can lower your overall score, so be mindful!
Maximizing Support Points:
- Coordinate with nearby alliance members to exchange support, ensuring smooth HQ transfers in stages 10 and 20.
- Especially in stages 7, 14, and 17 (which are attacked only by online users and offer high scores), be sure to send support to online members to maintain nearly 100% kill rate.
Utilizing Alternate Accounts:
If you have an alternate (sub) account in your alliance, you can use its troops to support your main account or, if you’re a tier-10 user, have the sub account defend solo to earn extra points.
Considerations During Attacks & Support
Viking Attack Pattern:
Each stage has a 1-minute waiting period by default, with stages 10 and 20 granting approximately 3 minutes. Use this time for proper healing and support.
Troop Healing:
- When all marching troops are deployed, healing your troops means “your” troops will return to your home. This will lower the score for alliance members supporting you and negatively affect the overall alliance score.
- Important: Do not heal your troops unless it’s before the second failure ends the event or when you briefly recall troops after stage 9 to send them out at stage 10!
Support Positioning:
Ensure that alliance members sending support are positioned close to each other for quick response. Coordinate this in advance.
Considering Power Disparity:
- It’s effective for users with similar power (heroes, research, equipment, etc.) to team up in pairs or groups of six for support exchanges.
- For high-tier users, try to support with as many troops as possible within your attackable range to maximize points.
Alliance Defense Organization & Role Assignment
If your alliance has smooth and active communication, pre-selecting members for the HQ defense is a good strategy.
HQ Defense Troops:
For stages 10 and 20 HQ attacks, pre-select the top 10–15 users (based on troop tier among those available at that time; the exact number depends on the alliance rally participation) who are online and ready.
Rally & Announcements:
- Once the defense team is decided, choose a leader and assign troop counts based on the rally size, then announce it to all.
- Also, use shield infantry (especially above tier 7) to reserve the HQ and ensure stable defense.
Additional Tips
No Effect from Shields:
Vikings bypass shields. Even if you use a shield, a failed defense will still result in your home burning.
No Resource Loss:
Although a failed defense doesn’t actually strip your resources, keep in mind that diamonds are consumed when extinguishing fires. Do not put out the fire after just one failure; wait until you’ve failed twice or the event is completely over before extinguishing fires at your home.
Managing Loss Rate:
- If your home’s loss rate reaches 65% or if it burns 1–2 times, immediately post your coordinates in the alliance chat and call for help.
- For stages 1–13, aim to receive as much support as possible; from stage 14 onward, consider gradually recalling the troops you sent out for support.
Worried about the overall team score dropping?
It turns out that successfully defending through stage 19 for a higher score can be more valuable than losing points due to insufficient support in your own home. Many strategize using this method from stage 17 onward.
Sharing Information:
- During the event, sharing real-time information such as stage scores, loss rates, and support statuses is critical.
- Even if it’s a bit tedious, please check the stage reports in your mailbox and adjust your strategy flexibly as needed.
TLDR
- You have to empty your city. You cannot keep any of your troops in your city.
- One of your strong ally will defend you (must be someone whom you can trust), if he withdraw, Viking will burn you.
- Divide your troops in some parts and send them to your ally.
- Make sure, you and your ally solo fight 100% troops of Viking.
- Important: You cannot heal your troops in the whole process. If you heal your troops, they will come to your city and your ally will not get much points.
