Capybara Go! – Mistaken Start (MS Guide)

A Mistaken Start (Mainly for F2P’s)
Ву KJ – Monocle Ghostie (NOpings).
Everstones
Not saving everstones early on. A lot of times you see blue orb (Ever Stone) in events, in AFK spirit stone packs, etc and you don’t think much of it. However when you reach a certain level you’ll find yourself needing them. This is especially important for F2P because these stones have few methods of obtainment. And most are time-locked. So start saving whenever you can and start early on.
Disclaimer: Don’t use it on anything less than a Damage reduction of SS rarity.
Books
I made this mistake often of getting inheritance book boxes from events and using them on a certain kind of book and then finding myself needing a completely different kind of book.
In general there are 2 main important books for builds and those are Ghost books (Ghost legacy {the one you should focus on} and some brands/heroes use it)
- Skeleton books(for t2 skeleton legacy and multiple brands use them).
- If you have the guild coins or Gold coins to spare, buy Ghost books as a priority.
Arena
A lot of times after a certain arena level you’ll find that you can’t compete. So to maximize rewards we do a little trick. Find out in which arena level you start to lose. I.e: I start losing consistently in Diamond.
- And do as good as you can for the first few days. 2 days before the weekly season ends make sure to drop yourself under the ranking needed for advancement.
- And you should find yourself dropped to the lesser battle.
- In the lesser battle you should be able to place 1st each time for the 7 days, and even for the entire weekly season.
- Repeat this process until you find yourself able to push your limits beyond a certain battle level. This maximizes your rewards.
Growth Events
You should skip the first growth event of each type (Mount Growth, Eggs, Chests) on your server. Ninety percent of the time, you won’t achieve a proper ranking. Use your resources to obtain the small Combat Power (CP) boosts you need to at least help you progress. The second time these events come around, using resources independently no longer provides a significant CP boost, so in most cases, you should start saving then.
Now that you’re properly saving resources and using them in their respective events, you still don’t use them at every event.
There are two main strategies for free-to-play (f2p) players:
- Try to get at least Top 20 in each growth event to guarantee two gold Darkmoon tickets and alright rewards.
- Sniping: This strategy is usually more for the mid-game, but as an F2P player, you should skip an event by only doing zero to one round. (You should do at least one round for some reward momentum.) During this time, avoid using all your resources; instead, save them for the next event. This gives you double your normal weekly amount and can often guarantee a top 1-5 spot, which frequently pays for the skipped week. If the top spot doesn’t seem worth it that week, don’t overuse and waste resources in a battle against a heavy spender. If your server is notorious for impossible rankings in the top 10, I suggest completely ignoring this method until the top 10 becomes somewhat viable for f2p players.
Spending on the Wrong Things
Generally:
Many free-to-play (F2P) players think that spending gems on any event is usually in their favor. However, this isn’t exactly true. For most events, there is a recommended amount to use; some events are more worthwhile than others, and there are priority events.
Specifics:
The priority: the rule is Adventurer wheel before all. It ensures you get your Mythic Adventurer Dragon Girl / Wukong early and it is a critical part of the gameplay, CP, and damage output. (also get Piggy when you can .)
Often Skipped events: “Treasure Team Wheel”, “Mystic Sea Wheel”.
Treasure Team Wheel is a completely end game event and shouldn’t even be touched by f2p until very late game. However, this gives you a chance to save gems and possibly spend on gear/wishing/ saving up for another important event.
Mystic Sea is also often skipped however still important because of the Elsa statue. In the first 2 times you sea this event you probably still won’t even have Elsa (an immortal level pet) to even care about it. So this is just another gem saving opportunity in the eyes of an F2P.
S Weapon Selection
As an F2P player, most of your gameplay is heavily influenced by the first 1-2 months of playing. One of the most important choices is choosing your first S-tier weapon. Many F2P players chose a relatively weak S-tier weapon, built its gear for months, and are now stuck with it since it is extremely impractical to spend months building an entirely new build for an entirely different weapon. So, make sure to choose wisely.
I strongly recommend going one of two routes: either rolling on the angel banner and using pity on Skysplitter or your preferred weapon.
Or rolling only angel banner, using BoJ (Blade of Justice) and switching (By using Conversion Ticket) to Skysplitter / preferred weapon when you get to mythic BoJ) The Blade of Justice route is more F2P however yields a much longer term investment.
Resources That Seem Unimportant
Alot of resources seem or are used too freely and yet have a huge impact on gameplay.
Pickaxes
Such as Pickaxes, which are surprisingly important as they are your main source of spirit stones. At levels 400 and 1,000 you will have sizable boosts in the amount of spirit stones you get which really affects your spirit growth events and pet build stats. So they should not be neglected.
Meteoric Iron
Another example is Meteoric Iron: most players just use these to upgrade the first collectible in sight continuously. However this is a grave mistake. If you click the “sets” tab, you’ll find that there are sets with very sizable passive effects that boost your stats a lot. The main focus should be sets that improve HP and Atk. And a commonly overlooked one is the Set that improves Ludwig treasures, this is great for getting more gold from travels. Some other collectibles that you can prioritize: Golden Hourglass (increases AFK time in minutes), Royal Roses (energy regens faster), Ancient Key (skill crit rate).
Capycoins:
This mistake is much more fatal than it seems. Capycoins are extremely hard to get in the later levels of the game. So ‘gambling’ with less than 500 and not getting the 5 Kapibadges can greatly weaken your progress since you’ll have to start from 0 again with no reward. You should guarantee ‘pity’ each time. After dungeon floor 900 or so (or after around the 1.8k-2k Capy coin mark), it starts getting very hard to beat the dungeon floors and thus harder to get capycoins, so the income becomes lower every time you ‘gamble’.
Magic Crystals:
- This is one of the most annoying and time-consuming mistakes of them all. Whether it’s using them on the wrong items or not securing a sufficient income of them, you make a long-lasting mistake.
- The main purchases using magic crystals should be:
- The respective Arcana mentioned in your weapon’s build guide.
- Elite Pact indefinitely (as in, you never have enough).
Those are the only two purchases you should make. Anything else is a complete waste or too short of an investment/too low value.
Rolling Pet Stats
This isn’t really an F2P problem, more of an everyone’s mistake, but usually mistakes affect non-spenders more.
When you roll for pet builds, you will find an option to “Confirm.” If you do not confirm, the older pet stats are still in effect. You can make sure of this by clicking “Original stats” in the corner, and you’ll find that those original stats are the ones in effect. Some people mistakenly think that simply by rolling pet builds and getting a bad one means you’ve deemed your original stats replaced. This doesn’t hold true. The stats are still in effect until hitting “Confirm.”
Important: Since I didn’t know this when I first started playing, I spent a good few weeks not rolling in spirit growth events because I already had an okay build and didn’t want to risk getting a worse one simply by rolling. So, you can roll safely knowing that it doesn’t affect your original stats unless you hit Confirm.
